DR. RICK MCCLAIN, D. MIN.

Conference Speaker

Dr. Rickey (Rick) A. McClain was born and raised in Columbus, OH.  He was born Deaf from birth, he did not learn sign language until he was 19 years old – while a student at Gallaudet University. He previously worked with Deaf Missions as the Director of Training – Deaf Missions Training Center, and as a facilitator in Translation of the Book of Leviticus (2016 – 2020).  Dr. McClain holds numerous degrees (Associates, Bachelor’s, Master’s (2) and Doctorate) from five institutions.  His Ordination is in the Church of the Nazarene and his ministerial experience has covered more than 40 years in the Church of the Nazarene and has taken him and his family to six different states.  He has preached and taught in various Churches, Conferences, Colleges, Universities, workshops, and classes (Tri-State, Valley Forge University, Deaf Missions Training Center, Piedmont International University) on a variety of topics dealing with Church Growth, Church Leadership, Discipleship, Pastoral Ministry and Pastoral Ethics. He is married to his wife Deb, and together they have two daughters and are blessed with four “bigger than him” Grandsons.
His favorite bible verse is from Mark 5:19: And he did not permit him but said to him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.”
He, with the expertise of Rev. Dr. Robert Ayres, wrote, “DeafChurch 21: Vision for a New Generation.”
